Second, given the dismal nutrition of ordinary poor kids at the time, just imagine the deprivation involved in the creation of these “Lilliputians.” Must have been a real balancing act keeping them alive while stunting them sufficiently to impress. manuf2

“Lilliputian Farms”–I think that’s an artisanal cheese concern up New Hampshire way.

Of course, nightmare stuff like this is still going on all over the world. (Was I alone in not finding Slumdog Millionaire to be a feel-good treat, for related reasons?)
