It’s fun to see such a forthright judicial assertion of women’s right to whack their husbands.
The dilemma of how to punish the beater without subjecting the beaten to economic privation is, I think, one of the main reasons that public discourse on the subject keeps coming back to the whipping post. We’ll return to that point later.
