Detroit News, March 19, 1931. No big deal here. Headline just struck me as tabloid-poetic.

The famous motto of the New York Times (“All the News That’s Fit to Print”) was essentially a promise not to publish stories of the kind I’m collecting here. Consequently, the tabloids are way better sources if you’re doing cultural or social history, not to say a lot more fun to read. You’d never see an item like this in the Times . It has no non-prurient purpose or use. Though it does anticipate the cardiac predicament of munitions billionaire Tony Stark.
